i've been looking around for a gti or jetta for a while now and now i've finally found one.
and i just want to know what everyone thinks of it.
2002 gti 1.8t... 90,000 miles ... silver ... manual ... rebuilt alternator ... new transmission ...new oil pan ... and all the basics [sun roof.17 in rims.etc]
it cost 7200 which is really cheap?
we test drove it and it drove good.
but i know this guy raced with it.
his front tires were worn down
and he told us he drove like an idiot.
and im just worried if theres something that could be wrong with the car since he did race with it.
also is that cheap for this car[$7200] its a private seller and most of the dealers sell it for about a thousand more.
give me some advice.

why don't you take it to a mechanic and have them look at it, check it over

i'd say that's a lot of miles, but it's pretty cheap price. i'd look around some more for a newer one. and you know that the car was dogged and raced all the time, so i think you just answered your own question.
