Im looking at buying a 1984 Jetta with 600,000km on it. New breaks, windsheild, plugs, wires, and engine mounts....
Just needs a new battery as its not holding a charge.
Drives extreamly well, no clinking form cv joints, shifts smoothly (its an auto). It does however shake quite a bit while at idle but evens out as smooth as silk as soon as you touch the gas (idle speed adjust?)
What stuff should I be expecting to go wrong with it and would it be a good buy for $600.
Its clean inside and out.
