I have a 70 bug convertible with auto stick. Recently checked the oil and looks like I have transmission fluid in the crank case. Is this a seal failure? How do I fix? Do I need to remove the engine and transmission? Any help would be appreciated>
Thanks

Look at the engine oil pump, it pumps oil for the engine and
another pump mated with it pumps atf oil for the converter, a
rubber seal seperates the two pumps, the seal is most likely bad.

Thanks Smoking Dog
I did surmise that this was the problem. I obtained the two seals a nd replaced them a month ago. Of course to do that the engine had to be dropped. As long as I did that , I changed the clutch plate, torque converter seal, regreased the transaxles, checked all the parts, rebuilt the carb, and cleaned and painted the engine. So a little $25 seal change turned out to be a major issue.. but the engine looks buff. Oh well>
Hey thanks for the reply..I do appreciate it.
