I'm probably not looking in the right forum, but what the heck. I just recently bought a 1970 VW Bus that was running just fine when purchased. When I took it home, I couldn't get it to start. I think there was one cable that was connected to the battery that had been removed and now I'm re-wiring the entire thing just to make sure it's all good. I've swapped out a few parts such as the main wiring harness, spark plugs, the cables connecting the spark plug and distributor, and the voltage regulator. I've followed the wiring diagram and everything. When I go to start it up, it turns over, but won't fire. Like I've said, the thing ran before I took it home. I would appreciate any help I can get.

Maybe just some of your
Volkswagen Bus parts are really old and needs to be replaced... Go to your nearest Auto shop and ask if they still have some parts of your VW... Better yet ask first your trusted mechanic if what are the necessary parts which are not functioning well...
Goodluck!!!!
