87' golf cl

Hello ,

have recently purchased a 87' golf cl and just wanted to ask a few questions about it.

1) i dont have a rev counter if i get a set of clocks with a rev counter will they just plug right in ?

2) the carb or what im assuming is the carb seems to have a lot of movement in it i.e it will move an inch in any direction

3) when started from cold it seems to chugg and sounds likes its not firing on all four pots and puffs out quite a bit of black smoke until warm might this be related to the loose carb ??
