I have a 93 Golf 2.0l that had an intermittant stalling problem and in the process of diagnosing the problem I removed the engine control relay to check it and now the transmission will not shift automatically. I can manually shift but I do not get the overdrive. I also noticed that the gear selector indicator in the instrument panel is all lit up not showing a gear selected.
I do not have a service manual so I am not sure if the TCM is affected by removing the relay or if it is just a coincidence. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I tried accessing old TSB's but for some reason they will not come up. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
