95 jetta crank no start

hey all, posted something about this prior. Looked into the problem a little more and just wanted to get some opinions. Here is the background, battery died no start ever since. Have fuel no spark (well can smell fuel out of the exhaust after cranking for a little while). Looked into it further, no 5v reference to any components. Got a snap on solus and could not get communication with ecu. Kind of leads me to believe that the ecu is bad. Not sure why all of a sudden....which brings me to my next point does anybody have an ecu for a 2.0 95 jetta 5 spd. part number is 037 906 258 AH. The ah is the crucial part from what I am being told. So if anybody has any sugguestions or ideas or pretty much anything to say. At this point im ready to beat the car with a sledge hammer. Got it for free so that is the only thing that it has going for it.

Just for anybody who might care. It ended up being a bad ecu. So don't try to start your vw while its on a battery charger!!!
