I was noticing in my 07 Jetta I just got how loud the stereo is outside of the car. Even if I have it only a little loud I can hear it from a good distance. Is there just poor insulation in the doors or what? I like to blast music loud but doing it so I don't disturb other drivers or worse...cops. Especially when I'm going to put a 4 channel amp in it.

 

I noticed that in an 06 the other day. But yeah thats what im thinking....bad insulation, my area of jettas are loud outside to.

 

Yeah I think it is poor sound insulation because I had just one alpine type R 12" in my previous car, a 2001 for focus and it was way loud inside but fairly quiet outside, yet if i walked into the gas station I could hear it. Now I have an 06 Jetta and it is way louder on the outside, so it must just be a Jetta thing.
