I have a 2000 Jetta GLX. There is a electric motor or solenoid ??? noise that sounds like its coming from behind the dashboard on the passenger side. Anyone have any ideas?

Did you ever find out what the noise was? I just bought a 2000 Golf, that perodically does the same thing.
