Bad slamming noise in front end.

Hey I am new here and I have a problem. I have a 97 VW jetta GLX and I was burning out one day and something happened in the front end. Now when I step on the gas I will get a grinding noise on the passenger side and when I let off the gas and the weight shifts to the front the whole front end slams down. The only way I can prevent it is accelerating up to speed at low rpms. Like around 2-3 grand.
