It time to get new rotors and brake pads for my 2003 1.8 L WolfsBerg edition Jetta. I am not a gear head so do not know what to buy but I was wondering if there are any after-market parts which are good and cost less than OEM ones? If not, which are good ones I can buy and which products should I avoid? Thanks for any advice.

Go to Advanced Auto parts and purchase the store
brand....Wearever.... low priced and good quality.
I have Wearever brake rotors front and rear and Wearever
gold brake pads front and rear on a 4x4 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a V8 engine and the brakes have done great.
4 rotors cost $125.00 verses $450.00 for factory.
The pads cost $ 25.00 per front and the same for the rear. verses $75.00 per front and rear factory.

Brembo cross-drilled/slotted is what I'm shooting for. Not sure what I'm gonna do yet.

R1 concepts on Ebay motors specializes in performance brake parts. I bought drilled and slotted rotors for my 00 VR6 GLX from them for $192.00 for all 4. They come zinc coated to prevent rusting although they will....eventually. I got them from SoCal to Winnipeg, MB, CAN in 6 days. Shipping was standard aswell as brokerage fees. After installation when i would apply the brakes, the car would stop quick and smooth with a lighter foot on the brake pedal.
