my dash light comes on when I start it sometimes, but then fades out any suggestions? It's a 95 jetta GLS.

I have a 1995 Jetta III GL and except for the Backlight for the Odometer and Clock I have no
Lights.......
How do you change the lights....
Any Help is appreciated..Thank You
