I have a 2002 VW GTI and tonight, on the drive home from work, I started getting the indicator for the door/hatch/hood being open. It wasn't constant, it would come on, then go off. After parking the car and setting the alarm, the system tripped as if someone was breaking into the car or something for no apparent reason.
Are there issues with the sensors for the doors/hatch/hood? What should I do to diagnose what sensor is causing the problem? Would the weather have anything to do with it?? (I live in Pennsylvania and had major storms last night and it started getting very cold in the evening)
Any help is greatly appreciated.
