I got my 2001 jetta last fall and have since noticed that it has been getting bad gas mile on the freeway. it doesn’t feel like it has 5th gear and I was wondering if that car came with 5th or am i doomed to stay close to home.

well form it sounds it's an automatic....in that case it's mostly likely a 4-speed auto...dunno which had the 3-speed but I think it was a 4-speed, I'd have to check to make sure.

clean ur air intake? buy kandn filter.......it helps lower rpms when driveing.....
