I have been all over the internet tring to find help getting my car fixed. This is for a 91 golf gl. What i am tring to do is put a new cv boot on my car (outer). I cant get my rotor off and my caliper hex bolts holding it on are rusted and will strip if you try to take them off. i dont know if there is a pin you need to take off to get the cv joint apart or something simple like that. I was told you can use a cone to get the boot on without taking everything apart by turnig the boot inside out and heating it then greasing the cone then slipping it over the joint.  My problem is i cant streach my boot over the rotor... so any help i can get is much appreciated.

I did mine last summer I had to use stripped nut remover to get the caliper bolts out, but If you are changing the cv boot , you may not need to remove the caliper.  Check instructions on here http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/1c/96/4b/0900823d801c964b/repairInfoPages.htm
