I am stuck on how to remove the steering lock/ignition switch assembly from a 1990 VW golf. (See attached photo) I’m taking parts from this car for my 1991golf)
The repair manual book is a little vague on this one. They say prise off the lock washer from the inner column and remove the spring and contact ring; then remove the lock assembly. However, if you look at my attached photo you will see a large thick sleeve that the steering wheel fits on, that would prevent removal of the spring. Does this sleeve need removing; and how - if it has to come off would I need a puller?
