jetta cold air intake

how hard is cold air intake to complete on a 96 2.o 8 valve, any hang ups? will i notice power increase with out chip? do i need one with a airpump? any personal recomendations(company,model?)

all a cold air intake does is relocate your airfilter away from the engine because the cooler air helps the combustion process, somewhat indirectly. on my nonner, i noticed a big difference when i put mine on, and in many cars, the stock air box is VERY restrictive.

I would recommend a neuspeed p-flo or if you're looking to save a few bucks swiss cheese your intake box and add a K&N filter....there are other options out there......but depends on what you're looking for......for a few more horses add an exhaust and if your still not happy I would say chip it........unless your going to pull the motor for a swap at which point I would just say save your pennies for the swap.......

a no-speed p flow is only good for noise

cheap way would get one on ebay rather than make one, they only cost 30 bucks...........
