My Jetta has about 130,000 miles on it, and has been running pretty well. However recently in the past 6 months the oil indicator has been flashing and beeping persistently.
The situation: We'll drive for a little while, stop at a stop light, and then when we continue it will start flashing and beeping. However, it will stop momentarily when I rev the rpms to about 3,000. The only way to get the rpms that high is when we are on the highway or I put the car in park and rev it that high. However, the whole process starts again when we stop or slow down.
The oil if full, and the type of oil we use is GTX high mileage 10W40.
Any ideas?
Whats the year of the car? Last oil change? Positive it's an oil indicator?

1995. Oil leaks constantly, but only when car is parked at the end of the day. I change oil filter on regular basis. And yes, it's the oil indicator that is beeping non-stop.
(Sorry for long wait, I've been away.)
