Hello,
I have a real quick question for you guy (hopefully!). Does anyone have instructions on how to program a new remote for a 2002 Jetta GLS 1.8T? I just bought the car used and it only came with the valet style key, so I bought a brand new uncut remote off eBay for $30. I just wanna knwo how to program it to work with my car.

Thanks,
Randy

Not to sure, I heard if you switch your ignition on and off
8 times in less than 10 seconds, (leave ignition on after) it'll
switch the car into programming mode, then push all the
buttons on the remote once and turn your ignition off.

This is for most systems, I don't know...it might work, some
cars require special procedures.

p.s. Is this just a key (uncut) with a chip in it? Or does it have functions
on it like lock/unlock, truck etc buttons on this remote....if so, the above mentioned
is meant for key fobs that lock/arm/open truck of the car.

Well if you had the original key it would be easy as pulling both apart, swaping guts (impobilizer chip, cut key) not too sure about the valet i assume it has the immobilizer too?! But the straight key obviously dosent work in a switch blade setup. Anyone else?
