I have a 2002 jetta gls, 2.0l engine, almost 59k miles on it.. About a month ago I was in a car accident... bumper, fender, grille etc were replace and radiator was repaired. I've had the car back for a little over a week now and drove80 miles to get to my parents for the thanksgiving weekend. Anyway... since I got the car back its been making a strange shaking type noise when idling only. (maybe a belt?) and then two days ago my check engine light went on while driving. Checked the oil it was low, added 1.5 qts. Anyway, is it possible the accident/engine light issue are related? I was going to schedule an oil change/check up this week anyway but I'm not sure if I should take it back to the insurance repair shop first to look at the possible belt issue.. dont know if the check engine light is a coincidence or what. Is it safe to drive my car back 80 miles to get home again?
any info you've got will be appreciated... =)

you should absolutely take the car back to the shop. call the insurance agent also. i'm not sure about the noise but drive carefully or tell the agent you want it taken there by a car-carrying tow service. good luck.
