?sensor problem

Hi all. I am new here to the forum. I have a question. When I start up my 2000 Jetta, the water temp light comes on and beeps for about 30 seconds then goes out. The temp gauge is normal and water temp stays at 190.
Could this be a faulty sensor.
Please give some advise.

hi! Volkswagens are definitely good for the sensor glitch and electrical ish!! May not want to listen to me, but I don't think it's anything to worry about personally.
