I was looking to change the shifter knob and came to the realization that I had not the slightest idea on how to. Do you have to take out the surrounding case or does the knob just come out??? Thanks

well if it's the same as in the Jetta, it's a pain. I had to used vice grips and a lot of other 'finess' tio get it to screw off.
