Hey everybody, new to the cite and i had a question. I have a 97 Jetta GLS 2.0 5 speed with 130k on it, car runs excelent. I also have a 1989 Lebaron GTC 2.5 turbo with a blown tranny and a bad body, it uses a mitsu turbo. Has anyone every installed one of these onto a 2.0? If so how and what mods are needed and where do u guys do computer programs at. This is my first vw and i really like it, i don't have much money to spend but i am somewhat of a mechanic and confident that i can do it all myself. Thanks for any advice provided, oh that turbo runs stock 12.5 psi on my lebaron.

Honestly its alot of work, but its possible to buy a manifold made for that turbo. I would bother with such an old engine unless you dont value it running for too long, the motor wasnt designed for those types of pressures, the internals will most likely explode on you, but good luck if you do pursue this. Ecu chipping or custom dyno tuning will be needed to make this run not to mention fuel problems...

You would have to rebuild your block with forged internals.  Only way to run high pressures and not crack your block.

you could prolly get away with like 6 or less psi but with that many miles you may need some bottom end rebuilding. if you do decide to do this epi tuning sells a 2.0 turbo chip to allow you to run it.

I still think its too much money for the results you get, I would save up and buy a better platform If I was this guy...
