Its a volks - karmen Ghia square back. As mentioned above its from late to mid 60's early 70's

It's not a Karmann ghia.
It's a type 3 Squareback or also known as the Varient
check out
the samba look up things on "Type 3" or "Varient"

karmann ghia looks like this:
there are razor ghias(type 3), and regular ghias(type 1)
heres a type 3 ghia

It is a 70's model wagon. eventually named a Type 3 1600cc flat 4 moter under rear luggage area

t4....It is a 70's model....always been a type 3 squareback.
never known as a wagon. It was a 1600 cc engine, and
was Bosch fuelinjected and produced 65 hp. Had the same
engine confriguration as all air cooled VW's but had a different cooling system that made people call it a flat or
pan cake engine. The air intake in the rear fenders were
fins and they were turned backwards( a vw goof ) This made the engine over heat around town, and the engine
block would warp and lock up, if it didn't lock up the main
bearing journals in the block would wallow out and it would
loose oil pressure then lock up....yep it was a great car
not to own........ info from a factory trained VW TECH ME!
