Good Day all, I recently found a great deal on a 1981 VW Jetta Diesel, and i took it. a couple thousand miles later my AC Compressor locks up, and I was tentavily stranded. This is when I notice that my water pump pulley is running out of line with all the other pulleys, as it is sitting about a half inch farther towards the front Passenger tire (right side of car). i am not at all interested in replacing the AC compressor, but I would like to know what a non-ac jetta diesel engine setup looks like, and what parts I need to make it happen. the Alternator runs off the AC, and the AC Runs off the crank/waterpump. I will need a double pulley on my alternator and to get that waterpump back in line if I am to do it right, or replace them all with the right stuff. I assume that the waterpump had been replaced before with the wrong pump, probably a non AC version. I can't find that out however. Any one have an suggestions? i love my little jetta....
