Hi there,
I have a 2L 99 Golf that I like very much but the engine light keeps coming on. Just had it hooked up to the computer, it said it was the crank sensor so I had the sensor replaced. I was told if there was a real problem with the crankshaft you'd know. Light was off for two weeks, car runs flawless. What should I do?
Anyway of turning off the engine light for good?
Any suggestions?

   Just a huge guess, it sounds like the o/2 sensor is acting
up, The best way to tell with out spending money is add
a bottle of injector cleaner to the gasoline and take it on a
long interstate run , about 50 or more miles, if the o/2 sensor is the culprit it will clean up and the light will go off.
Another thing after doing that is, remove the ground cable
off the battery and wait about 5 min and then reinstall it,
that resets the computer.
