Hi, I have broken antenna on 2003 jetta.  How do you replace that?  Do you have to remove top liner inside?  If so, does it just pull down?  I don't want to break anything,  Thanks Jack

Hello Jack.
The Jetta antenna seems to be a weak spot with these Volkswagens.
The antenna screws out of the socket from the outside to be removed. Very easily done.
I just purchased one two weeks ago on ebay. Cheap, just $7.99.

Good luck.

Yeah that's the weakest link, mine is broken before I bought it, most of mk4 jettas I saw around have same problem. At first I thought about buying a replacement from ebay, but I found the reception of my radio didn't go worse without the antenna so I just unscrewed it, and I think my car looks better now :)

You don't have to remove the base unless you want to replace it with some fancier newer generation uni-body antenna.
