Your CV joints most likely are makeing the noise. The rubber boots don't have to be torn or any damage showing. with the miles you have, they just need repacking with CV joint lube. The easy way I do it is put the CV lube into a hand operated grease gun and purchase one of those needle lube tips for the gun, then undo the small clamp on the axle side of the boot, slide the needle between the axle and boot and then pump away with a lot of grease, then press around on the boot with your hand to move the CV grease into the joint area, after you got it filled with with the correct amout of lube then install a small hose clamp on the boot to seal it off again. works great and it saves a lot of money. the popping noise may still be heard for a while but it should go away after driving for a while. The only thing is use the correct lube and don't puncture or tear the rubber boot in any fashon or form, if you do then you just cost your self some cash.
