I drive a 95 Golf III GL. It has everything stock in it including the 2.0 motor. I want to do a spark plug and ignition wire change but i have absolutely no idea where to start when it comes to both parts and installation. First off i want some performance parts so i can gain some hp out of changing it. And for installation i need some detailed diagrams as to how to take it all apart and put it back together considering i'm a complete newbie at car repairs. Thanks for any help.

If the engine is stock, changing the plugs and wires to hot stuff wont increase anything, but it will decrease your wallet. Performance plugs and wires will help if you have increased the rest of the engine.

To make the engine run correct, you need to purchase the correct products for the engine, The factory brand and spark plug heat range should be used. The plug wires will have a certain OHM or Resistance that needs to be matched for the new wires, so it's hard to beat the factory wires. If you use an incorrect heat range plug and it happens to be too hot, you could burn a hole in a piston. Incorrect plug wires could cause static on your stereo system and interfear with the computer system that runs the engine. If you go with the hot aftermarket stuff and the rest of the engine isn't hopped up to match the goodies you just goofed up. When you start hopping up for more power one thing calls for another to make things work, and it's a never ending thing.
