Help please!

I have a 2001 VW Cabrio (just bought it a couple of weeks ago). Just this morning, as I was turning on the ignition, I noticed that the "trip" odometer reset, the clock reset, and the radio locked itself (the digital read-out reads "SAFE", and it appears you have to enter a code to unlock it)! What did I do? How do I fix this problem? Please help! Peter

All the items you mentioned, are on a circut that feeds current all the time, even with the ignition switch off. Sounds like they lost that current and when you turned on the switch they were activated again. Look for blown fuses, could be some one installed a fuse thats too small in amps. if it's one of those 5 amp jobs you might go back with a 10 amp.
