StewB -> Polo starting problem (1/20/2008 9:32:39 AM)

I am having lots of problems starting my 1Lt Polo from cold. It often takes many turns of the starter to get it going, sometimes not at all. However when I eventually get it started it's okay for the rest of the day. Any ideas?
help!
