well i had a friend who was driving on the interstate going like 70MPH and her car all of a sudden died, well she had it towed to the VW dealer where, without eeven looking at the motor said it was the timing belt.....they called her father and said it would be 4500 to fix. he ended up selling the car to me, b/c i needed a DD that was reliable. i just drove about 600miles round trip and towed it back, so i get it back and pull the tiiming cover, and wala!!!! the belt isn't broke...looks fine also. so i tried to crank it and it won't even spin. in fact, the starter sounds pretty slow and i don't think it's engaging. what else could this be???? i thought maybe the batt/alternator went bad on the interstate and caused it to just die, but i dunno. i figured i'd ask here if anybody had the same troubles. thanks in advance guys!!!!! oh yeah it's an 02 jetta 1.8T automatic.
