Question #1 I just traded my 2002 WRX for a 98 GLS w/ the V6 and I noticed the next day, an oil burning smell that was a quick smell and was gone alomst right away. Untill I backed up, then it was very noticable. The car has 78,000 miles on it and to me this is shocking. Question #2 carfax shows it has a 10yr 100,000 miles drive-train warranty, what would this cover? Engine oil leaks? Thank you

Well, you might want to look for blue smoke....just to make sure it's not something else burning off. Have you check for leaks anywhere? Get external leaks out of the way first. -------- Over here, drive-train warranty's cover the transmission *system* only. You'd have to read the warranty itself to find out exactly what it does and doesn't cover.

Thank you. I did find out the warrenty is 10yr 100,000 miles FIRST owner only. I feel this stinks!!!!! About the leak, the smell seems to have got a little better, but I am unable to look where it is coming from till I can either get in a garage or the weather becomes a little nicer. I tried and it looks like, from what I can see, it might be from a value cover or the dipstick area. But now I wonder if they have an over flow to keep the oil levels down in the oil if someone (the dealer) over fills them. I checked the oil and it is a little over full, like maybe 4-8 oz over. Maybe the dealer will take a look and see where the oil is coming out of, not sure but I am pretty disapointed about this.
