I have a 2003 Golf. 2 Door, 5 speed, base model. My car DOES NOT have fog lights. Nice car, I love it. BUT. Everything about replacing bulbs is a total PITA. Now, my current problem is the little bulb under the high beam has burned out. I can't figure out how to replace it. What the service manual shows is not what the reality is. Plus the access panel is stuffed with wires and is so small a spider monkey would have a hard time geting its fingers inside. The dealer is of no help and want to charge me a small fortune. No way, plus I don't trust them. And they have no saturday hours. Does anybody have any idea what bulb this is (Osram Sylvania Type) and how to replace it? I could really use some guidance as I am totally frustrated by this.

HOW MANY MILES IS ON YOU CAR REASON BEING IS IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY THE DEALERSHIP HAS TO REPLACE IT. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 2005 GOLF, IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY REPLACED IT AT NO CHARGE.

Thanks for the suggestion. However the car has 80,000 on it and the warranty is long done. But that point is a sore one for me. Osram Sylvania, the OEM light bulb manufacturer for VW states explicitly that bulbs must be replaced in pairs. This is for safety and even brightness... Also so the other bulb doesn't burn out 3 days later... Well volkswagen warantee don't do that. So I get one bulb replaced... and 3 days later go back again for light bulb on other. This, and other shenanigans are why I don't trust VW America and my local dealer.
