Hi
In May 2005 I bought a limited edition Dark Flint Beetle cabriolet
I now have a prblem with the drivers seat which is red leather with plastic beeding which has split. Volkwagon will not do anything as warranty for upholstery is 6 MONTHS ONLY nor will my main dealer who just called it wear and tear!!!!!!. I now have gone to the expense of having an independant assessor who says that this is not right and I am waiting for his report to it further .
Has anyone else had a problem with the leather seats ??

I also have an intermittent problem where the top gets stuck down and will not raise  and other small intermittent problems with the electrics.

I have come to  the conclusion that this all singing all dancing model is far too much overloaded with all these electirc gadgets
I also would think twice about buying another VW

Dont mess with the dealer if they wont help you.  Get in touch with the (vw) factory rep that is in your area. I have had a run in with a dealer on a different brand, and they will put you off untill the warranty is up. When i had the dealer rep for that brand of car with me, the dealer done back flips to make things right, and the shop manager was fired.

The VW dealer in your area should give you the phone number of the vw factory Rep that deals with all the vw dealers in your state, if not then get in touch with your Better busness bureau in your town.

Thank you I think we may be talking at cross purposes here because we do not have this service in England I dont think.
I have had an independant assessor to look at my car and he has said that although the seats are in fact leather the beeding which has split is PLASTIC  and I am waiting for his report but considering my VW is less than 3 yrs old and has done 22,000 miles only and is less than 3 yrs old I am not happy.  I could understand if the car had done 120,000 Miles, or 20 yrs old or even if I was 20 stone (which I am definately NOT) so I am waiting to hear.

You still should have a factory representative in your area. Someone has to relay between the dealerships and the factory.

I used to live in England, where about are you?  I lived in East Anglia...if my memory serves me right, been about a couple years.
