Hey, Just wanted to throw out my recent experience with Ray reece Dealership in Portland Oregon. I have had my 04 TDI Jetta serviced only here since new. This last time in the Mechanic stripped the oil drain plug threads and they insist on charging me for the 450 dollar part. I have talked to the service Manager and he say there is no way they will cover the part. Now I understand that a steal plug going into an aluminum pan is risky at the least, but the manufacture says if torgued carefully at 22 ft/lbs there should be no stripping. It seems to me this is either a defective design or a mechanic not being careful enough. Either way I dont believe this should be a consumer cost of getting an oil change by professionals. What can be done about this? Thanks!

Yeah thats total BS! Why should they charge you for thier stupid mistake. Ive had a problem with a dealer also and i called Volkswagen customer service and they got things straightened out, 1-800-822-8987. Call them and see what they can do for you. If they cant help you they usually can give you a number that can.
