I just recently bought a 96 automatic GTI, I have VERY BAD arthritus in my left anckle and had to optt for an automatic. Having owned many many manual V.W.'s im looking to get any info on a shift kit for an automatic that will give me the "PUNCH" of a stick shift. My GTI has 98000 original miles on it and this 2.0 Litre has quite alot of power left in it, and honestly is relatively quick running the gears manualy. Being a die hard stick shift driver for almost 20 years (and in all truthfulness i use to talk mad smack about automatics) go figure my karma caught up with me with my shifting leg..... any help or info i could aquire would be most appreciated! Im use to the inconceivable power of my 87 16V Scriocco that i had to painfully depart with some months ago, and could only hope that my new to me Golf might come close to "polishing that car's rims" one day.
