im thinking about buying a jetta, i commute to school about 80 miles a week. i found a jetta close to me thats the 2.0  with auto tranny and 84,000. what kind of mpg am i looking at getting? anyone with info is appreciated. and is there anything you can add to increase mpg? im not into speed since i got my z28 camaro for that.  im not big into the 4 cylinder loud exhaust either. any info would be great thanks guys!

That's exactly what I just bought. It's the 1999 fully loaded. I'd guesstimate I get around 30 MPG on avg. Costs about 35 bucks to fill at $3.30 a gal. with 87 octane, about 40 with 91.

I just bought one this week... I love it... 99.5 fully loaded... everything... I calculated it the other day and it was 27 in the city... So you can guess the highway.... And thats one 87... I love mine so far... The exhaust is rather quiet... Im used to the loud exhaust and I have a tendancy to speed...
