hey for any1 thats knows, iv got two questions. Can a cone air filter make ur maf sensor go out? my check engine light is on & i was told it was the sensor. second question is, does any1 know where i can get a cheap maf sensor so i dont have to break the bank? appreciate the help!

If you stuck a cone filter on the end of your MAF it may be getting a bad reading.  In the airbox there is a velocity stack to control the air flow going in.  If you get a full cold air intake you shouldn't have any problems.  And before you go get a new MAF buy some MAF cleaner and see what happens.

Yea I agree.  MAF are not cheap, actually cheapest I found was around $80.

oh by the way, how exactly do i get a complete cai in. I have a 00 jetta gjx vr6 & i really dont c much room for one. does ne one have a pic of on installed? appreciate ne advise!

They make 'um.  I don't have a picture but there is room.  I think the best bang for your buck would be one from ECSTuning.com.  They are around $170 as opposed to AEM at $270.

it was a tight fit for mine, just remove the plastic tubing in front of the left headlight, and snake through.  I did it through the bottom but I'm sure it would work through the top, too.  I made my own, and I noticed that only the filter makes a difference.  I've had about 5-6 different brand of intakes, and it pretty much comes down to the filter, if it's a good exhaust.  just my opinion tho...
