Hello, I am new here, and I am not familiar with VW's, but my parents have a dead VW rotting in the backyard...It's an old 60's/70's red Type III wagon (squareback), but without the rear side windows. I am unable to find much info on this model (which lacks the side windows). Is it worth tracking down local VW Heads, would they drool over this old body style or just shrug? I don't know the condition, it never ran, it was sort of inherited somehow and dumped in a pasture!

I wouldn't dump a lot of money in it. If the body is rusting and you don't have disposable income then you'll want to get rid of it.

Thanks for the reply. I was mainly wondering if this were a rare body style (I'm guessing no). I have no plans to salvage it, however my parents would like to haul it to the junkyard in the sky if it's not valuable. If it is a rare bird, I would try to get it a new home. (once again, it's a type III with no rear side windows)
