Hello, new to this forum, actually run my own forum about Fender Guitars at www.21frets.com in case anyone here is a guitar player. ANyway back on to the subject, I have noticed vertical windo scratching on my 2007 Jetta. The scratches are in perfect vertical lines and are all along the windows, some a bit more pronounced than others. I brought the car to my dealer and the took off one of the door panels to inspect the window regulator and seal. I was told this is from dirt built up in the seal and was not a warranty item. Further to that it would cost almost $300 per window to replace them. I started looking at other 2007 VW's and notice the same scratching going on with almost every car I inspect. So far I haven't been arrested for loitering around vehicles, LOL! Has any one here checked their glass recently to see if there are scratches? I would think this is a window seal defect and needs to be addressed by VW as I wash my car weekly and keep it in pristine condition. Thanks for this cool forum!

I would try another dealer, or just call VW and find out. They post different recalls, or known problems but can't remember where, sorry..just woke up..LOL. Anyways, yea that does sound like a big deal and not just one isolated occurance with your vehicle only.
