bagel -> intake opinions (2/15/2006 11:20:08 AM)

hey guys, I recently came across some money and was trying to figure out if someone knows of a cold air intake for 2000 Jetta VR6, that, for the money, would be the best for performance. I'm not trying to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on something that only gives like 2hp more. I'm looking at Injen right now, but was kinda leaning towards Bumi, or maybe even AEM. Any opinions would be helpful...

Well you're looking at $200 for a decent intake. I've never delt with intakes for VW's so I couldn't advise you on a brand. Just that most if not all go for $150-200.

I concur most intakes are going to be $200 or so ....
Why not get a chip that'll definitely add some HP ...more bang for the buck!! ($350 & up for chip)

Just throw in a K & N if you can't decide or want to save money

i would hunt around ebay for a cheap intake. i did so for my car, and then i bought a good K&N filter.

hey, i know ur not trying to spend a ton of money but for around $300 you can get an intake from EIPtuning. They do quality work, and it is definitely worth the money. Either way, you're not going to get a ton of hpower out of any intake! Unlike places such as AEM, these guys don't start making it until you order it so it's kinda custom made for you. That's a nice little bonus too!
