Ok - so I'm new here - just bought my '05 Jetta GLS a week ago.  I love the car's look, interior, steering, etc.  However, I traded in a Pontiac with a 3.8L, V6 engine, so I'm having to adjust to the complete difference in acceleration(I didn't get the Turbo).  I'm all good with it accelerating more slowly, hell, I bought it with the intent to take it a little easier and save some $$ on gas, but it seems to have a slight delay in shifting.  Nothing major, but noticeable.  This could easily be that I'm just not used to a 4-cylinder engine, and need to accept it's going to move a little slower through the gears - but I've seen others complain about similar things.  My largest concern is the delay in moving form Park to Drive - sometimes it seems to "jump" into drive - Is this a Jetta trait and therefore normal for the car, or should I be concerned?  Since I just bought it a week ago I want to look into these things while I still can threaten the dealers into doing what I want :).  Anyways, if anyone has any insight, I'd appreciate it.  I'm good with car "character traits," so long as they're not a problem.
