So I have a 96 gti and the doors wont lock except with the key but even then the hatch dosnt lock, but when i turn the key in the door or press the button in the car i hear the automatic lock motors trying to work for about a minute or so before they shut off. if any one can help me i would appreciate it

I think there may be like a regulator or something.  I can't remember but someone had the same probem few weeks back and changed something I'm sorry I can't remember what it's exactly called.......I'll have to go back and look at the post.

before i was not concerned with it but now that im trying to sell it, it is an issue because not a lot of people want to buy a car that dosnt lock

leak in a doorjam
pull back the boots by the hinges and check the green vacume lines
