Usually a 'rapid heartbeat' is due to a tired bimetallic (or a short) where the current spike between source & load. I replace every bulb in the vehicle each spring, check the fusebox & replace all of those, clean the retainers, and general maintainance will prevent those wire fires. Replace the blinker relay, toss the Old Glass, drink a beer. Paul T.
