Hi, I'm looking into buying a fourth generation jetta pretty soon but I have a lot of questions. I'm looking to spend around 10k for a jetter that I can put some money into to make it fast. What engine should I be looking for to build upon? I assume the VR6 is faster than the 1.8t, but the 1.8t is also turbocharged. I have also been looking at the GLI's, I know they are the sport edition, but what specificially has VW done to them that makes them better than a standard jetta, what extra features does it have? If I am looking for a fast car should I go for the GLI over a regular jetta? Also if anyone knows what are the differences between the various trim packages ie: GL, GLS, GLX? And lastly, what kind of maitnance has to be performed on jettas around 60k - 70k miles? Thanks in advance, any information is appreciated.
