Hey, I just joined today. My name is Adam, I'm from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I don't have a VW right now, but I'm seriously looking into buying one soon. I'd like to buy a 1998-2005 Golf TDI the most, but a TDI Jetta would do also. I'm still in high school, I'm in the auto career program and I know my stuff, so I would probably be doing any and all work to the car. First thing I want to do is add a straight pipe exhaust (no cat or muffler), intake, and chip. I might do some suspension work also. We are pretty much obsessed with diesel performance at school, but with big trucks like Cummins, Powerstroke, and Duramax. But the price of diesel is outrageous, so I'm down sizing to something with better fuel economy. I want to become a diesel technician anyways, so this would probably help out. Is there anything specifically I should look for when looking for a Golf/Jetta? Thanks for the help and I'm looking forward to learning from this forum.
