okay so i pretty much love my 2000 jetta but she's having a couple, or should I say, a few problems. They're all electric (imagine that)... I think its a ground wire issue or something is shorting out. Everytime I shut my car off the next time I go to turn it on, my trip meter is reset, my clock resets, and my presets on my cd player reset. It's pretty much annoying. Also, when i unlock my car with the remote, if I open any door on the driver's side within 30 seconds the doors relock themselves and will set my alarm off if a door is open. It's supposed to do that only if the doors havent been opened in that 30 second time period. This is also annoying lol. Okay one more thing.. When you put your key in the door and turn it and hold it, its supposed to roll down all the windows.. Nope, doesnt do that anymore either. I've checked all my fuses and those are all good, I'm kind of at a loss and was wondering if anyone else out there had an idea of what and where my problem is.. Thanks

its supposed to do both, you can roll them down and roll them up... It used to do it and I don't know when it stopped working since it was cold out and I didn't need to do it. Yeah the other stuff is... ugh. I dunno. Thanks a bunch though

one thing you may want to check it the ends of the battery cables (the metal peices that are attached to your terminals) cause my jetta would just die sometimes while driving and it reset everything (at highway speeds) and when i was putting my intake in i had to remove my battery and the way the little end things work is really dumb its like a wedge design and one of the bolts was broken so i cut the end off stripped the wire and put a new end on and it solved my electrical problems so i hope its as easy at that for you, thats the only thing i can think of, that and mabey check the little distributer box thing (the little box attached to the positive terminal with all the wires coming out on top of the battery) mabey something is off there. good luck
