HELP!!
Low lights worked before I went into the store- 30 min later when I started the
car- both normal driving lights failed to turn on. Highlights still work.
A mechanic friend had only enough time to check the fuses- informed me that
there is seperate fuses for each side- and that both fuses were fine.

So... Now what??

Please respond ASAP as I'm blinding everyone when I drive at night!!!

And I'm worried the highlights will suddenly die as well.

Thank you!!!!

I live in Hawaii- warm weather- hasn't over heated since I got it used- 4 months ago.
however- I had a problem a week earlier starting it after splashing just a little bit of water
on the engine when I was topping off the radi. resvr. Had to let it dry out for about 2 hours. When it did start- a big cloud of white smoke came out of the tail pipe.

I figure if it was somehow a delayed short in the headlight wiring- it would have tripped the fuses right? and effected more than just the low lights...?

ALSO>>>>
  • ChkEng light has been on since I bought it- the previous owner covered it with black tape.
  • Occasionally.. when you unlock the doors from the drivers side- one or all the windows go down part way.
  • The friend who found the car for me reccomended that I do a heater bypass to prevent the motor from blowing...Is this a known problem for this car? I have the parts.. I just hate to loose the ability to heat the car if I don't have to...

thank you
