Ok look I know I am going to get ripped on something fierce for this, and I disserve it so don’t hold back.

I bought a cold air intake on ebay for $40. WHAT A DEAL RIGHT!!!!!                  Nnnnoooooo……..
It looks like it was welded by a 2 year old. And the connectors made from the cheapest rubber I have ever seen. The filter was about the only good looking part on the whole thing, but it wasn’t enough to offset my anger. After about 15-20 min (I’m not sure I blacked out from rage) I calmed down and thought for a while about what to do next.
I finally said to heck with it if my buddy can make one out of p.v.c. pipe, I can use this piece of crud. So I prepped the car. I removed the air cleaner and duct work and went to mock it up and as if I didn’t expect it, it doesn’t fit.
Honestly who didn’t see that coming?          Any one
The problem is that the battery is in the way.
Now for the question that inspired this post…..did anyone have to move the battery to install their intake?

Umm no reason other than cleaning up the bay to put in the intake, why bother with a cold air on a 1.8t? Its useless, the turbo heats up the air as it compresses it, this is why we have intercoolers, stick with a short ram. Your get what you pay for, did you think 40.00 was going to get you much? I cant even buy a filter for that cheap
